Step by step to build and paint the electrical transformer.
Kit MAC35125
First we remove the casting blocks with a saw and we sand the rest. We use sandpaper fixed to a piece of plywood with double side tape. We sand the resin using water, to avoid the resin dust, don't forget that the resin is harmful. When finis we can clean the sandpaper with water under the tap.
To build the support, we use the Evergreen provided with the kit. to make the building easy we use millimeter paper and double side tape, to fix the Evergreen pieces.
We can add some rivets for more detail.
We fix the pieces to supports, to facilitate the paint job. First step is to apply a coat of Tamiya primer.
I used acrilycs from Vallejo Model Color. For the transformer and his support I used 994 Dark grey and some lights with 991 Dark sea grey, for the insulator I used 982 Cavalry brown with some drops of clear varnish. The wooden box is painted with 888 Olive grey.
I applied washes with brun/brown oil paint.
We add some chipped with 941 Burnt umber and black. We can add some washes with oxide colour.
To the wooden box we apply a dry brush with the base colour plus 876 Brown sand, 977 Desert yellow and white
